Bureau of Economic Research is one of the oldest research organization of Dhaka University, It was established in 1956. Since then it had played a glorious role in promoting various important researches by reputed teachers and researchers from the faculties of social science as well as from the faculties of business studies. In this web site we have presented the list of their research monographs, books and working-papers. The sheer volume and number of these works will testify the credit of BER in her long journey of sixty four years till now.
During its tenure, BER not only carried out researches and publish them, but also had always tried to train young researchers from not only economics department, but also from whole Bangladesh. These training programmes were often subsidized by the state and many trainees from different walks of life were able to avail that opportunity at a minimal fees. The trainees are recruited in these training programmes through open advertisements.
The teamwork of the BER director and her staff were always harmonious and excellent. In future, under the able leadership of the director of BER the BER team will hopefully extend its work further to disseminate its research works and outputs more comprehensively by arranging a larger number of workshops, national seminars and international seminars. It will also hopefully try to develop effective cooperation with other research bodies of other national organizations so that a fruitful synergy could be developed in the field of research in Bangladesh.
In this happy occasion of the BER website inauguration, I sincerely wish BER a happy and prosperous journey towards fulfilling its future mission and vision.
